About Bimal Barman

🔹 Earlier Education

He completed his secondary schooling from Ichhaganj sukurchand high school and higher secondary schooling from Mathabhanga high school. He joined to Computer science engineering in the institute GCETTB, Berhampur. But he was not interested in CSE department due lack of knowledge in coding. Further he changed college as well as department and he joined to Civil Engineer in Indian Institute of Engineering and Science Technology, Shibpur (belongs to West Bengal). After completing his academic education he joined to professional work.

🔹 Professional Life:

 He is working in on-growing multidisciplinary organization as a Bridge Engineer for structural analysis. Collect the bridge related data from the site during bridge inspection with the help of MBIU (Mobile Bridge Inspection Unit). This unit (MBIU) helps to inspect the bridge thoroughly and its approach to bearings, girders or any bridge structural members. Analyze the collected data and make bridge inspection report. Next inform the client (NHAI) whether the bridge is in safe or not for the vehicles and pedestrians. If there is required any type of repairing and maintenance work, then recommend to client as proposed actions or remedial measures. Incase of distressed and critacl condition bridges, the inspection team carry out some Non Destructive tests, i.e., Ultra Sonic Pulse Velocity Test (UPV Test), Cut and Pull Out Test (CAPO Test), Rebund Hammer Test, Carbonation Test, Half-Cell Protential Test etc.

Designing various types of bridges, including RC slab bridges, box cell bridges, T-beam bridges, and PSC/RCC I-beam bridges.

Utilizing MIDAS Civil software for bridge design and analysis.

Sharing knowledge on bridge inspection procedures, maintenance, and rehabilitation techniques.

Providing access to engineering codes such as IRC and IS standards.
